INDIA-SOCIETY-DANGEROUS-JOB

A society divided into 2 parts, the one who called himself “Swachh” - hygiene, and the Second one who called by “Dushit”- Unhygienic

A question comes in mind that who’s Swachh and who’s Dushit?

Those people who make the mess and leave it for others to clean their shit, or those who clean shit by risking lives almost every day.

Who are they?

They are not a Physician, not a Policeman, not a Politician, not even in the Army but they wage war against the country’s nastiest enemies, keeps disease away from us, keeps the country free of filth, in-fact they run the country by risking their lives almost every day.

When the drain is clogged, the manhole overflow and our own created mess stinking, then our eyes start searching for someone to fix the issue.

Most undesirable and high-risk jobs to clean human excreta with their bare hands, and we let the country be run by them alone because the country is run by each one of us

Indeed, they do what no one wants to do

A whole world is worrying and fighting with the known coronavirus but they fight every day with many viruses inside gutters and garbage to clean human excreta with their bare hands and often comes out really, really sick.

The hygiene society wants them to clean their shit but won’t respect them, which is the aspect of disgust that society feels for them.

They tie themselves with rope and go down to the manhole in underwear and sometimes a pair of worn slippers for cleaning of sewers and septic tanks.

They slop into the black water full of garbage and fecal matter.  They feel the blockage with their bare hands and try to clear it. Taking the excreta out is always strenuous. They keep diving into the manhole, bringing out more buckets full of sludge.

Their families always remain unsure if the sole breadwinner of their family will make it back home or not, because they need to go down to clean the manhole’s sewage without safety gear and precaution.

But, they make everyone live easier by risking their lives.
